GC Laughs 2020 Festival Cancellation
After months of planning and preparation this is certainly not the news we want to be sharing - unfortunately the GC Laughs events planned this week are to be cancelled.
GC Laughs was due to present some of the top names in comedy from across Australia and internationally again this year. After discussions with performers and heeding national advice regarding the developing situation, we have come to the conclusion that the best decision for the health and well-being of the community, artists and staff is to not proceed with the GC Laughs events planned for this week (March 16 - March 21).
We are working closely with HOTA to reschedule events and they will be in touch with ticket holders to arrange refunds or to transfer tickets for rescheduled shows. This may take up 10 days and events early in the festival will be the first priority. Please bear with us.
The ice-cream has been knocked from our hand, but we're scooping more into a fresh cone as we speak - stay tuned!
Spend an evening with comedian Em Rusciano who in the past year has turned 40, given birth and toured 12 dancing vaginas around the country; all on a combined 45 minutes sleep! An intimate and up close experience, Unplugged and Unhinged will allow you a rare glimpse into the stories behind the stories and you’ll hear Em sing some of her songs as you’ve never heard them before, quietly.
Em Rusciano is one of Australia’s most well-rounded performers. With her finger in every piece of the performing pie, Em has co-hosted breakfast radio, sold out the Sydney Opera House with her live comedy shows, released chart-topping songs, books and audiobooks, and most importantly, wielded a Bedazzling gun like no one else on Earth.
’Twas many moons ago when Em made it into the Top 12 on Australian Idol in 2004. She may have been booted out in ninth position, but her career was only just beginning. Em spent five years in breakfast radio in Adelaide and Perth, before making the move back to Melbourne to try her hand at live comedy. And what a hand it was. With sell-out shows around Australia every year of the past five, Em’s stage presence keeps getting bigger. In February 2018, she embarked on the Evil Queen tour, in which she had to add extra shows after the Sydney Opera House, Melbourne Palais Theatre and Queensland Performing Arts Centre sold out in only a few hours.
